I'd say the best commercial on the air today would have to be this Stride Gum commercial-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-S2PL9GdRQ
It’s about how the Stride Gum Company will take any measure to get you to chew a second piece of gum. I find it hilarious, in fact, I'm not sure I want to meet the person that doesn't. They do a great job of getting the idea across that Stride Gum's flavor lasts a long time. In the commercial, a group of dancers in lederhosen drive up in a van and start to dance around some man in the middle of a parking garage. The continue to dance around him, and as each dancer passes behind him they punch, hit, and kick him in the back until he proceeds to spit out his gum. The moment he does a dancer picks up the gum and they all drive away in the van they arrived in. I like the fact that it is totally random and unusual. I don’t like that it almost seems like they are trying too hard to be random, but at the same time the commercial is refreshing to watch after all the commercials trying (but failing) to be funny.

The Election in the Media
Voters today have a huge advantage over voters in the past because of the amount of media that information on the election can be shown through. On the other hand, there is a disadvantage because of all the bias coverage there is. I've seen countless commercials on TV that try and discredit Obama, McCain, or Hilary, but that is only because these commercials were created by supporters of their opponents. The advantage is that you can hear both sides of the arguments made by supporters and opponents, and the candidates themselves. Each magazine, newspaper, radio station, website, and television station has puts their own spin on their coverage. You
can either find a photo of Hilary Clinton
in front of an American flag, looking very presidential, or you can find a photo of her looking her worst. As you can see, these photos almost look like two different people. News sources are supposed to remain unbias, however it is obvious that there is a very week effort to do just that. I noticed that the Fox News election website seems to favor Obama with many links to blogs favoring Obama and opposing McCain and Palin. You can see for yourself at: http://elections.foxnews.com/ The headlines in newspapers imply different things when you see them. The two papers could have the same picture, but the article could be insulting or complimenting it. You can find information on the election in almost every type of media.
